Sleepover Fun

On Friday night Faith went to her friend Annalise's house for a sleepover.

She had heaps of fun playing computer games and all sorts of Tag games on the trampoline.

Faith and Annalise have been friends since kindy. Annallise lives on a farm so they had lots of fresh air and outdoor play too.

RIP Sophie

On Thursday night our lovely cat Sophie was killed when she was run over by a car.

She had been in our family for over 3 years and we are very sorry to lose her.

Star Student

You may have noticed the design of Faith’s blog has changed. She sat down with me a few days ago with very specific ideas about how she wanted it to look. Originally I had just applied a basic template. She felt very strongly that this was not how her blog should look. J So we sat down together and did a bit of a redesign. Actually, I did the clicking and pasting, under her very specific instructions. (It actually took quite a few hours. She was VERY specific. And a little mean. At one point she said “remember mum, it’s not about what YOU want, it’s about what I want”. ) She designed the header, chose the background, the colours, the fonts and every other little detail of it. Now she’s happy. What do you think?

In other news...

Faith’s very proud of herself because she got a certificate at school today for improvement in her reading.

Fun with Art

Faith is really into her art at the moment. She’s always had a bit of a flair for it. You can give her some bits of paper and a glue stick and she will right away see something amazing and beautiful that she could turn it into. Lately though, she’s been experimenting with drawing in some different styles than anything she’s done before. She had a relieving teacher who taught them for a day and he was pretty good at drawing and showed the class some new drawing techniques. Faith took to it straight away, and after playing around with styles and colours, she made this drawing of a summer/autumn tree.

When her teacher came back and saw their amazing creations, she decided to continue teaching them some more drawing techniques. Every night, sitting in front of the TV, Faith’s been sitting quietly with paper and pencil and playing around with shading and colours and creating something beautiful and new. It’s fascinating to watch her.
